AYP to Honor and induct new members into Hall of Fame

The African Youth Parliament (AYP), will this week in Port Novo, republic of Benin, ratify the winners of its African Leadership Award, an annual event of the Association.

In a Statement issued by the continental body in Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday, the group through its spokesman, Henry Kelembe said notable Sons and daughter from the Continent have been nominated from selected member countries of the Union.

“We have carefully selected and will have the parliamentary ratification of these noble sons and daughters of Africa, who have distinguished themselves in the Public and Private sector, particularly in their exemplary commitment to the growth of education, Youth development and empowerment and passion for issues of African development.

He cited the numerous commitment of the nominees, to Educational development and access to education, and particularly the less privileged and their principled posture on issues that affects the welfare of the less privilege within the society.

The group, which is a continent-wide network of Young leaders, Peace builders and social activists, working for African based solutions to Africa developmental challenges says the award is not only to showcase the achievements of the recipients, but also to challenge other well-meaning individuals across the continent, towards complimenting government’s effort at making life more meaningful to Africans, particularly the Youth.
